Spring
(a frame tutorial)

This lesson was written for PSP 9 but can be done in any other version of PSP.
Materials needed:
Tube - of your choice -approximate size W-370px & H-430px
Font of your choice (I used BlackChancery)
Step 1 - Open a new transparent image size 500 x 500 pixels. Set your foreground colour to a light colour from your tube (#FFEEAB) and your background colour to a dark colour from your tube (#ED7317)
Step 2 - Set the foreground to a gradient - foreground/background -angle 45 - 1 repeat - invert checked - style linear. Flood Fill your image with this gradient. Set your Flood Fill Tool as follows, keep this setting.

Step 3 - Open your Tube, copy and paste as a new layer in main image. Move this to the bottom right of the image (see sample picture above).
Step 4 - Duplicate tube layer. In your layer palette go back to original tube layer and go to Effects - Texture Effect - Mosaic-Antique with the following settings.

Step 5 - Set layer Opacity to 75% (this may have to be adjusted to fit your tube). Merge all layers.
Step 6 - Image - Add Borders - Symmetric - checked, Size -2 pixel, Colour - white.
Step 7 - With your Magic Wand select this border. Flood Fill with your dark colour.
Now go to Effects - 3D effects - Inner Bevel with the following settings.

Deselect all.
Step 8 - Add another border 10 pixels, colour white. With your Magic Wand select this border and Flood Fill with your gradient. Keep selected.
Step 9 - Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel with the following settings.

Deselect all.
Step 10 - Image - Add Borders - Symmetric - checked, Size -2 pixel, Colour - white.
Step 11 - With your Magic Wand select this border. Flood Fill with your dark colour.
Now go to Effects - 3D effects - Inner Bevel with the following settings.

Deselect all.
Step 12 - Resize image by 85% using Bicubic Resampling.

Step 13 - Add border, 25 pixels using your light colour.With your Magic Wand select border and keep selected.
Step 14 - Select a pattern using your current image. No angle - scale 30

Step 15 - Flood Fill your selected border.
Step 16 - Effects - Reflection Effects - Kaleidoscope using the following settings. (With using your own tube you may have to change the setting to what you think is right)

Step 17 - Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds with the following settings and using the dark colour.

Deselect all.
Step 18 - Add border 2 pixels - white. With your Magic Wand select border. Flood Fill with dark colour. Effects - Inner Bevel -settings same as Step 7.
Deselect all.
Step 19 - Add border 10 pixels - white. With your Magic Wand select border. Flood Fill with gradient - Invert NOT checked. Effects - Inner Bevel - same settings as Step 9.
Step 20 - Add border 2 pixels - white. With your Magic Wand select border. Flood Fill with dark colour. Effects - Inner Bevel -settings same as Step 7.
Step 21 - Resize 85% using Bicubic resampling. Adjust - Sharpening - Sharpen.
Step 22 - Now you can add your Text.


These are my settings. Note the kerning this will add space between the letters.
Convert your Vector Text Layer to a Raster layer - Layers - Convert to Raster Layer.
Now you can rotate your text if you like - Image - Rotate - Free Rotate - Direction Left - Degrees 20 (or your choice) - All Layers - NOT checked.
Use the Inner Bevel on your text with the same settings as Step 7. Add a Drop shadow with the following settings.

Step 23 - Merge all layers and place your watermark.
Step 24 - Adjust - Sharpening - Sharpen and save your image.
